About Steve

I am an experienced Public / Private sector professional and entrepreneur with extensive experience in HR & Learning and Development . I am the Head of Centre  for Stag Learning Solutions , a Pro Qual  accredited centre for the delivery of professional qualifications  and a shareholder and Director in a long established Storage Equipment business ,www.thewpgroup.co.uk, I have also lectured in Management , Human Resources Management and Organisational Behaviour at FE and HE Business Schools. I have a Masters Degree in training evaluation which compliments my organisational development skills. I am also a qualified Assessor.

I have provided business consultancy services, HR organisational development, Learning & Training solutions, Recruitment services ranging from bespoke , Individual recruitment to large scale assessment centre management, Assessment services, Investigation (Discipline)(Tracing).

Business process improvement and re-engineering , Kaizen and Agile working solutions.

Employment framework development and integration (Skills mapping).

I.T. infrastructure project management , Accreditation management (ILM , NOCN) including approved programme development. Compliance training and assessment, Event facilitation, Policing sector training delivery including both Niche and Athena record management systems.

Re-structuring and regionalisation project management, Pay and equality audits.

Stag HR provide compliance audits for users of temporary agencies across all disciplines within the Private and Public sectors. We audit supplying agencies to ensure that they are compliant to all legislative and company requirements. Having workers supplied through an agency that does not recruit and supply in a fully compliant manner can put both the end user and agency at risk of fines and penalties.

We have a demonstrable track record of dramatically reducing instances of non-compliance from our original audit to the follow up audit. Our audit team work closely with the Borders Agency and other relevant government bodies to ensure maximum protection for our clients.

For example, £19m in fines were paid by Public and Private Sector Organisations for failing to carry out adequate checks to verify candidates’ right to work in the UK. This is based on data obtained under the Freedom of Information Act. In fact, since the introduction of civil penalties by UK Border Agency, a total of 5,531 cases amounting to over £53m in fines have been issued.

Within our audit team, we have experience within most staffing sectors and our trained team of auditors have been particularly commended for their work in the nursing, medical locum and general staffing sectors.

We are also engaged by many recruitment agencies who desire a third party auditor to give an independent view on their processes.

I am a vastly experienced ,Inspirational leader  and Managing Director(A qualified member of the Institute of Directors), with extensive executive experience across multiple disciplines and business sectors in Program Management, Compliance and Business Process and Restructuring, Mergers & Acquisition's , Fleet Control ,Tendering, Large scale Public Sector Contract management.

Jigsaw Medical Services Ltd -

 

As the Managing Director of the company on behalf of the shareholders I have delivered significant growth , In a heavily regulated market place we are the only private provider to be graded as 'GOOD' by the Care Quality Commission. I have steered the company through an aquisition by the Castle Rock Recruitment Group who's turnover is in excess of £290 million and continue to work relentlesly to develop the brand.

 

Prior to my appointment as the Managing Director of Jigsaw Medical Services ltd I was asked by the company shareholders to manage a contract with WRG Communications Ltd to provide 200 medical personnel to the Tour De France Stages 1 & 2 Yorkshire Grand Depart.

Cordant Group Plc    Designed and implemented a group business management process and software integration of the previously independent divisions of Cordant group, covering  53 locations, 150 branches (circa 1000 employees). The project included, IT software procurement, specification and design; business process re-engineering, operational compliance and change management co-ordination, from board to team leader level.

Led the successful completion of a major recruitment industry M&A project comprising 5 individual acquisition targets and including  due diligence, full post M&A  integration and subsequent re-engineering of the business model; growing Group turnover by £150 million, incorporating 1000 permanent staff and 30,000 temporary employees.

NHS Professionals    Operational Director responsible for the design, set up and implementation of the current “NHSP” organisation commissioned by the Department Of Health becoming the largest  ‘in-house’ national temporary staff provider of the NHS. Personally responsible for NHSP successfully  winning 6 of the 8 contracts within first two years of operation; with overall turnover of £52m, serving 33 Acute Trusts.
